Welcome

My name is Jay Richard and I am a freelance illustrator with an interest in the science fiction, fantasy and horror genres. My illustrations typically begin as pen and marker drawings that are then finished digitally in Photoshop or PaintShop.

I graduated from UMass Dartmouth in 2008 with a BFA in Illustration. I also took additional courses in Illustration and Graphic Design at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) over two years.

I won the Illustrators of the Future contest for the second quarter of 2011. My illustration and its story, Gerald Warfield’s “The Poly Islands," can be found in Volume XXVIII.

I currently live in Fairhaven, Massachusetts with my wife Lisa and daughter Bria "The Toddling Terror" Rose.
